If you live in the Channel Islands and suffer from varicose veins or unsightly blue thread veins we can help. Varicose Veins Jersey is a specialist veins clinic established in 2015 at Castle Quay Medical Practice, on the waterfront.
It is run by Gerard William who is a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Vascular Surgery. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and Vascular Society of Great Britain. Gerard specializes in treating problem veins and nothing else. Rest assured that you are in skilled and experienced hands. He takes delight in all the great results that have been achieved for our patients by the application of a modern ‘endovenous’ approach. Gerard is competent in all the available techniques and can therefore offer a bespoke plan for your treatment. He has a kind and considerate professional manner.
Over the past ten years we have successfully treated hundreds of Jersey and Guernsey residents with consistently high feedback. Gerard is supported by a dedicated team of experienced theatre nurses, namely Julie, Ann, Simon and Debbie. They will look after you during your procedure with a caring and considerate approach.
Our mission is to correct the underlying cause of the problem, get rid of the varicose veins and achieve a first class cosmetic result. Your legs will look and work better and be protected against future problems such as varicose eczema and skin damage. All our treatment packages are fixed price and you will be given a written quotation before you proceed.

The Varicose Veins Jersey Team
Please get in touch with Marie for a clinic appointment. Gerard is very happy to be contacted by phone (07927919092) to discuss your problem beforehand.
In the clinic he will carry out an examination and duplex ultrasound scan which will diagnose the root cause of the varicose veins. He will then discuss the possible treatments so that a bespoke treatment plan can be agreed. He will also advise you about the possibility of just taking a ‘wait and see’ approach which (for some) is a reasonable option. Gerard is happy to answer your questions and do not feel under pressure to make an immediate decision.
Gerard worked as the sole Vascular Consultant at Jersey General Hospital for many years and introduced modern minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins, in particular radio frequency closure of the saphenous vein. He has a personal experience of over 4,000 successful procedures all carried out under local anaesthetic. This technique, which is recommended by NICE, has revolutionized treatment so no more having to go to sleep, overnight stays in hospital, groin incisions, prolonged down time etc. Instead surgery is ‘walk in, walk out’, local anaesthetic, often back to work next day and a return to sport after three days. The times have changed!
Thread and spider veins are treated by the simple injection technique of Microsclerotherapy.

"I received excellent treatment and aftercare from Varicose Veins Jersey. It was nice to feel so well looked after and it's good to be able to get my legs out again. I wish I had undergone this treatment years ago."
